In conjunction with Fairfax Digital we were contracted to put together this website for the ACT Land Development Agency. It is a pure content driven website so WordPress was the perfect choice and the Interactive Map Plan uses jQuery and is quite cool as the user can obtain information about all Lots for sale. As far as we are aware this is the first WordPress real estate website in Canberra and the ACT as no other WordPress developers or designers in Canberra are doing development in the real estate industry.

The long awaited, and I must say a little overdue WordPress 3.0 was released today. It has a bevy of new features – some in particular will cause massive headaches to larger CRM platforms providers.

New features in this release include all new APIs that allow us to implement custom backgrounds, headers, shortlinks, menus, post types, and taxonomies. We also get the merging of MU and WordPress, which for me has always been crazy to be separate. I think the custom post types is the most important new feature as we are developing some sites that rely on this new feature. See below for video.

We must also remember that contributions to make this open source software possible come from around 218 people from many different countries). These are the folks that make WordPress the amazing kit it is and in the words of WordPress’s Matt Mullenburg “whose collaboration and hard work enable us to build something greater than the sum of our parts.”

Rentmy Carpark was an enjoyable project and involved a number of different WordPress plug-ins. The basis of the website is to allow carpark owners located across Australia to rent their carparks to the public.

The Ginga Website is proudly powered by the worlds most product content management system. Previously Ginga used an inferior CMS developed locally that did not offer a large community and upgrades were scarce – in fact in 5 years they never actually occurred. Ginga decided to abandon this approach and move to a more flexible environment. It took some time but we are happy, our clients are wrapped – it shows in the new developments which are 50% faster and are 100% standards compliant and the systems are updated at least 6 times annually.

A Little About WordPress (from WordPress.org)
WordPress started in 2003 with a single bit of code to enhance the typography of everyday writing and with fewer users than you can count on your fingers and toes. Ginga Design today released a group of websites for Decently Exposed. The website features 5 themes all styled around the one format but each with an individual look and feel.

WordPress was used as the core CMS engine and Ginga designed a set of plugins around the projects of each of the 5 products. The website provides a snapshot of projects and news for AutoSkin (vehicle branding), taylormadesigns (signage), Wall Scrawl (graphic memoboards) and PrintAsArt (custom print on a range of media).

The website is updated on a regular basis with new projects and news and media releases, all controlled by the client
